Above are two illustrations for the UAL website glossary. A couple of my fellow students have been asked to illustrate the glossary and, to make it a bit more varied, they asked a few of us to help and illustrate a couple of words each.
I had ''Communication'' and ''Formal/Visual Elements''. The monster billowing the smoke message of 'Yarp' is all about old methods of communication...trying to move away from the old idea of two people talking. The second in the robot being made up of building blocks...showing how an image is being made from various elements. Unfortunately no colour, only greyscale, could be used, but I think this makes it look like an ols style illustrated children's book, so not all bad.
